Traffic impacts due to maintenance work on Circle Drive Bridges

Traffic on the Circle Drive Bridges over Fountain Creek and the Union Pacific Railroad will be impacted due to maintenance work.

On Monday, Nov. 14 the west bound bridge will be fully closed to all vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. After work is complete on the west bound bridge a closure will be in place for the east bound bridge. For both closures, traffic will be diverted to each open bridge, travelling in both directions until work is completed on the closed bridge.

The duration of this traffic impact is scheduled to last 10 to 12 weeks. The maintenance work will replace the bearings on the bridges. There will be speed reductions at all times. To avoid delays, drivers should plan on taking alternate routes during the project.

For the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public, the City of Colorado Springs ask motorists to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs throughout the project area. All construction activities are weather and resource dependent.

This project is funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority.
